AI meal planner
Pyrra keeps a live pantry of what you actually own, gives you AI recipes based on those ingredients, and tracks your nutrition from your real food. Instead of handing you a generic menu to shop for, it plans meals around the ingredients already in your kitchen and how they fit your goals. Pyrra is an iPhone and iPad app (iOS 26.1+) and generating recipes is free.
Most meal planners hand you a menu and a shopping list. Pyrra starts from the food already in your kitchen. It keeps a live pantry of what you actually own and gives you AI recipes based on those ingredients, so planning what to eat means using what you have rather than buying a week of new groceries.
Pyrra tracks every meal against your daily calorie and macro targets, so you can see how a dish fits your goals before and after you log it. Nutrition is tracked across 70+ nutrients, including 13 vitamins, 12 minerals, 6 carotenoids, 9 fat subtypes, and 18 amino acids, sourced from USDA FoodData Central and Open Food Facts, and each logged meal is snapshotted so its numbers stay accurate.
When Pyrra generates recipes, it can prioritize the ingredients in your pantry that are expiring soon, along with any leftovers, so you cook them before they go to waste. Because it plans around your real stock and its best-by dates, you waste less food and make fewer last-minute grocery runs.
MyFitnessPal's Premium+ Meal Planner builds a seven-day plan from stated preferences like diet, cuisine, and budget, not from the food you have on hand, and it requires a paid tier. Pyrra plans from your actual pantry instead, and generating recipes is free. Cronometer has no meal-planning or recipe-generation feature at all.
Pyrra generates recipes and meal ideas whenever you want them, shaped by your pantry and your goals, rather than locking you into a fixed multi-day schedule. You plan as you go, cooking what fits the day and the ingredients you have.
