Overview

What is Pyrra?

Pyrra is a private iOS app that keeps a live pantry of what you actually own, gives you AI recipes based on those ingredients, and tracks your nutrition — including 70+ nutrients — from your real food. Your logs, body profile, and health data stay on your device and sync through iCloud; they never reach Pyrra's servers.

Features

Built around your real ingredients

Recipes, conjured for your pantry

How does Pyrra generate recipes?

Pick the ingredients you want to use, mark items to prefer or avoid, and conjure. AI recipes stream in with a name, per-serving macros, and an ingredient list based on what's actually in your pantry.

What does a generated recipe look like?

Recipes are revealed with cook times, steps, and macros calculated from your real ingredients rather than guessed — down to per-ingredient calories. Save one and it gets its own AI dish art.

Can I adjust servings and portions?

Change servings or spin the fraction wheel on pantry-matched ingredients — calories and macros recalculate as you turn it. Pin an ingredient to a specific store product and the numbers follow that label.

From first step to the Dynamic Island

Can Pyrra guide me while I cook?

Start Cooking turns a recipe into checkable steps with built-in timers. Background the app and the timer moves to the Dynamic Island and the Lock Screen as a Live Activity — current step and countdown at a glance, plus a preview of the next step on the Lock Screen.

Logging in seconds

How fast can I log a meal?

Save a meal as a preset and log it in a tap. Didn't eat an ingredient? Uncheck it and the calories update before you save.

Can I log food by photo?

Photo logging is rolling out now; barcode scanning and weigh-ins already sit one tap from the log. Each new day also greets you with per-meal suggestions drawn from what you actually eat.

A pantry that knows what's left

Does Pyrra track stock and expiry?

Yes. Expiring items surface at the top of your pantry, cooked leftovers become batches with servings left and eat-by dates, and logging a serving draws your stock down automatically.

Pyrra barcode scan review screen

Does Pyrra scan barcodes?

Yes. Barcode scanning is one of the ways to add items to your pantry and log your real food, backed by nutrition data from USDA and Open Food Facts.

Progress you can see

Does logging pay off?

Milestones mark the way — 50 meals, 100 meals — and each one pays out Embers, the in-app currency that unlocks AI recipes and images.

What are Pyrra's badges?

Illustrated badges track logging milestones, recipe progression, and eating variety. Each shows exactly what to do next — and pays Embers when you earn it.

Deep data, private by default

How many nutrients does Pyrra track?

70+ nutrients — 13 vitamins, 12 minerals, 6 carotenoids, 9 fat subtypes, 18 amino acids, plus carbohydrate and fiber breakdowns, hydration, and caffeine — from USDA and Open Food Facts.

Is my data private?

Yes. Your logs, body profile, and health data stay on your device and sync through your own iCloud account. They never reach Pyrra's servers, are never sold, and there are no ads. The AI features send only what they need to work — your pantry's ingredient list and your recipe preferences (like diet, allergens, and calorie and macro targets) to generate recipes, and a photo when you log by photo.
